searching for a job
You can search for a job from any page of myeducationjobs.co.uk simply by clicking on ‘job search’ in the menu on the left.
'Quick job search' invites you to select one or more of the search criteria to start your search.
‘Browse jobs’ allows you to view, at a glance, the list of all current jobs available to you.
'By region' allows you to select from a list or click on a map of the UK to find jobs in the region where you are looking for work.
‘Advanced search’ allows you to look for a job more tailored to your specific needs. However, the more criteria you choose the narrower your search becomes.
- Role – choose your specific job title. We have listed all education jobs, both in school and out of school, from headteacher and administrator through to nursery nurse and au pair.
- School type – choose the type of school in which you want to work. We have listed schools from nursery through to university.
- Subject – choose your specialist subject from an alphabetically ordered list. For example, if you are a class teacher in an infant school, you might select ‘Key Stage 1’.
- Region – choose the region in which you are looking for work.
- Keywords – choose a job title or a skill. If you enter a job title, e.g. primary teacher, we will search for jobs that contain both these words. But if you enter “primary teacher” (in double quotes), we will search for jobs that have this exact phrase.
- Area – you can choose to look only within your local area. All LEAs in England, and administrative areas in Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland can be found here.
- Salary grade – choose from main scale, advanced skills, TLR 1, TLR 2, all TLR, SEN 1 or SEN 2.
- Contract type – choose full time, part time, all, private, agency or supply.
- Contract term – choose permanent, temporary or all.
- Date posted – choose jobs posted in the last 24 hours, last 3 days, last 7 days, last 14 days, or all.
